Queen Post Truss
A
truss having two vertical posts between rafters and a tie beam where the
upper ends of the vertical posts are connected by a straining piece (such as a
tie rod or cable). A vertical structure member used to transfer the weight of
roof purlins on the gable ends or
onto horizontal cross beams.
